Viewed from the Bunker Hill Monument at sunset, the Leonard Zakim Bridge spans the Charles River. The cables and towers of the Zakim Bridge are fully lit by the blue-colored spotlights. The evening traffic of Interstate 93 is visible streaming over the old double-decker bridge which has since been demolished. In the foreground are the old buildings of Charlestown while the Boston Skyline including the John Hancock Tower provides a stunning backdrop. In the left background is the FleetCenter, home of the 2004 Democrat National Convention. In the distant background is the Blue Hills Range and a winter sunset sky. View Larger Photo
