Photos of the dismantling of the steel truss over the Charles River. There was a short press conference on 4 March 2004 just before workers ceremoniously cut away a truss member and lifted it away by crane.

On Mother's Day 2002 the Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge was opened for a rainy and frustrating afternoon walking tour.

Central Artery Tunnel Walk - 25 August 2002
This series of photographs highlights the recent walking tour of the nearly completed northbound Central Artery tunnel.

Charles River Bridge
This two-level truss bridge over the Charles River was constructed in the early 1950s to connect the Central Artery to the Maurice J. Tobin Bridge. Today it carries Interstate 93.

Central Artery
This is a series of photographs of construction of the new tunnel and of the old elevated structure in the vicinity of Causeway Street. Visible in these pictures are the temporary steel supports that now transfer the Central Artery's weight to the walls of the new tunnel.

I-93 Viaduct
This two-level viaduct is the last segment of Interstate 93 to be completed in Massachusetts. Beneath the viaduct is room for MBTA Commuter Rail and rapid transit lines.

North of Boston
Connecting Greater Boston to southern New Hampshire and beyond, Interstate 93 is the primary radial artery through Boston's northern suburbs.
